I hope that all our military folks and families enjoyed yesterday with lots to eat, good times, and fond memories. Our family spent a very quiet day watching a bit of television (Beauty and the Beast, Miracle on 34th Street), and playing outside in the snow. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner and shared stories. It is important that my children know of our indigenous relations who have a rich culture.
Stay warm.

Shocking Pagan Origins of Christmas
John Keyser put together a fairly well done article on the Pagan origins of Christmas. It's worth the read:

Acacia-Magickal Properties
Acacia (Sun, Air, Masculine) is good for warding off evil. It is said that a sprig tucked above the bed works to ward off evil, as well as carrying it on your person. It can also be added to your sandalwood mixture to help promote psychic abilities. It is most associated with Ra, Diana, Asarte, Ishtar, and Osiris.
